Post Man Invents Machine To Convert Plastic Into Oil
Man Invents Machine To Convert Plastic Into Oil

In an efficient and safe effort to save us from the ill-effects of plastic waste, Akinori Ito has developed a machine which converts plastic back into oil.

The machine produced in various sizes, for both industrial and home uses, can easily transform a kilogram of plastic waste into a liter of oil, using about 1 kW·h of electricity but without emitting CO2 in the process. The machine uses a temperature controlling electric heater instead of flames, processing anything from polyethylene or polystyrene to polypropylene (numbers 2-4). Comment: 1 kg of plastic produces one liter of oil, which costs $1.50. This process uses only about 1 kW·h of electricity, which costs less than 20 cents!

Or for the brochure

Not surprised at this at all, just a case of Japanese ingenuity and perseverance.
What is more important would be the marketing and very low cost to make it mandatory
to have one of these in every home.
Better yet, find a way to stop packaging everything in plastic.

Sound is all in Japanese. Just read the subtitles and watch.
What a great discovery!

Very Neat! :clap

Amazing find, Sky! I would put one of those in my home in a heartbeat!

I hate, hate, hate plastic. It seems like the smaller an item is - the bigger the packaging! GAH! I hate it!!!!! :flame

Way cool tech this. I did some enquiries from the Blest guys and they we're pretty fast with responses. Their smallest machine doing 1Kg or 2,2lb batches will set you back $13 500.

Too small for making enough fuel to transport yourself as per normal, and pricey for a payback. The 5 Kg machine is around double that and thus you have to have bucket loads of plastic as well as cash to make a go of this opportunity.

Still brilliant in my book!

:cool

Just the concept alone is outstanding, hopefully they will come up with a cheaper bigger capacity machine in the near future so that we can put a boat load of these in suburban households :clap :clap
