St. John the Baptist's Bones "Found in Bulgarian Monastery"
As a anthropologist
Personally I don't put much faith into such claims.
Relics were a BIG Business for the Middle Ages churches. A Church wasn't a church unless you had a Saint or Christian Hero relic somewhere in your church. They drew the faithful in piligramages and along with them their GOLD
Which the church couldn't get enough of.. lol
So the Churches would literally complete with each other. "Well I have the bones of Saint Sebastian! " "Ah! We have you beat! we have 3rd knuckle bone of the thrid cousin of St. Peter!" Vatian "Oh we have you both beat! We have the skull of Paul! Under the High Altar of St Peters! Come one come all! Tiding gift of 1/2 a years wages to get in! "
If you collected all the bones of all the supposed relics out there. You'd come to strange fact their are 6 times many bones of saints then there were saints! Lol
