Beaumont man shot dead at Houston's Bush Airport

A Beaumont man shot and killed Thursday at Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport was a reserved person who didn't talk much, neighbors said.
But 29-year-old Carnell Marcus Moore wrote of death on his Facebook page earlier Thursday, and according to Houston police, apparently left a suicide note where saying he was having trouble controlling his "monster inside."
Moore was killed in gunfire about 1:35 p.m. at Terminal B. Who fired the fatal shot is unclear.
HPD spokeswoman Kese Smith said an armed male in his early 30s entered the airport and fired a shot into the ceiling near a ticket counter in the pre-screening area of the terminal.
Hearing the shot, a Homeland Security investigations agent came out of his office and confronted Moore, ordering him to put down the gun, Smith said.
When Moore refused the command, the officer pulled out his weapon and the man turned toward him, Smith said.
The agent fired once, and Moore shot himself in the head apparently at the same time, Smith said. He died at the scene.

East Texas and I were out and about this afternoon running some errands. As we were leaving Lowe's a little after 2:00 PM CT, we noticed two fighter planes circling and flying low.
Several people in the parking lot stopped along with us and looked at the jets. One man said "Wonder what's going on?"
We are experiencing a late season cold front with high, gusty winds so today was not a day conducive to flight operations from Ellington Field.
Yes, I live in the flight path of both Ellington Field and Hobby Airport.
It seems ALL flights to Houston Intercontinental Airport were diverted to Houston Hobby airport for about 3 hours this afternoon as this shooting unfolded.
We didn't find out what was going on until we returned home. Sat out on our porch and watched flight after flight coming in to land over our heads.
The fighter jets finally landed about 5:30 pm.
Very reminiscent of post 9/11.
