Report: Holmes' psychiatrist reported behavior to colleagues
By the CNN Wire Staff
updated 9:35 AM EDT, Thu August 2, 2012
(CNN) -- The psychiatrist treating the accused Colorado movie theater gunman was so concerned about his behavior that she mentioned it to her colleagues, saying he could potentially be a danger to others, CNN affiliate KMGH reported Wednesday, citing sources with knowledge of the investigation.
The psychiatrist's concerns surfaced in early June, nearly six weeks before the July 20 killings inside a movie theater in Aurora, sources told the Denver station.
snip
A court document filed Friday revealed Holmes was a patient of University of Colorado psychiatrist Lynne Fenton before the attack.
Sources told KMGH that Fenton contacted several members of a "behavioral evaluation and threat assessment" team to say Holmes could potentially be a danger to others, the station reported.
The "BETA" team consists of "key" staff members from various university departments who have specific expertise in dealing with assessing potential threats on campus, the school says on its website.
Holmes was a doctoral student at the university's Anschutz Medical Campus until June, when he withdrew from the program.
Sources told KMGH that university officials never contacted Aurora police with Fenton's concerns before the July 20 killings.
Remind you of anything else? Yep - Penn State. If this is true, folks, it is yet another incidence of a public university covering it's own butt. Why would they not report this to the police? Hmmm? Why?
Makes no sense, does it?

Re: SHOOTINGS - UNUSUAL VIOLENCE
I notice that there is still no comment or report on if Holmes was on medication and if so, which one - a prescribed medication, I mean, by his psychiatrist, not the possibility of scopolamine. Of course if it is announced that he was on an antidepressant or anti-psychotic med, there would immediately be a huge reaction and that drug would take a nose dive....

Another shooting - Gunman, six others dead at Wisconsin Sikh temple
Oak Creek, Wisconsin (CNN) -- The FBI will investigate Sunday's rampage at a Sikh temple in a Milwaukee suburb as a "domestic terrorist-type incident" that left at least six people and the gunman dead, the town's police chief said.
Another three people were wounded, including the first officer to respond to the scene, Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards said. A second officer returned fire, killing the suspect, according to the chief.
All three wounded -- one of whom was shot in the abdomen and chest, another in the extremities and face and the third in the neck -- were in critical condition Sunday night at Milwaukee's Froedtert Hospital, the hospital said in a statement.
snip
Sunday's attack occurred about 10:30 a.m. (11:30 a.m. ET), when temple members were reading scriptures and cooking food in preparation for the main Sunday service and community lunch, said Kanwardeep Singh Kaleka, a member of the congregation and the nephew of its president.
Kaleka was not at the temple at the time of the shooting, but helped police interview witnesses in the aftermath. He said members described the attacker as a bald, white man, dressed in a white T-shirt and black pants and with a 9/11 tattoo on one arm -- which "implies to me that there's some level of hate crime there." (Sikhs, because of their turbans and beards, are often confused with Muslim and Hindi men.)

Re: SHOOTINGS - UNUSUAL VIOLENCE
(The first article quoted above made brief mention of the possibility that there was more than one shooter, but went on to say police had no evidence of this.)
Eyewitness: 4 Man Team Behind Sikh Temple Shooting
Paul Joseph Watson Infowars.com Sunday, August 5, 2012
UPDATE: A separate source has corroborated the other eyewitness claim – a family member whose parents were victims of the shooting said his parents told him there were “multiple shooters” involved in a “coordinated” attack.
An eyewitness to the Sikh temple shooting in Wisconsin says that a team of four men dressed in black carried out the massacre, contradicting the official narrative that a lone gunman was the culprit.
Speaking with the Associated Press, an eyewitness stated, “Between ten and ten-thirty, four white males who were dressed darkly, dressed in all black clothing, came in and opened fire on our congregation.”
With the federal government already labeling the shootings a “domestic terror incident,” the narrative is already being manufactured to blame the tragedy on conservatives and libertarians, as well as demonizing the second amendment.

Police identify Army veteran as Wisconsin temple shooting gunman By the CNN Wire Staff
updated 12:59 PM EDT, Mon August 6, 2012
Oak Creek, Wisconsin (CNN) -- An Army veteran who neighbors say played in a far right punk band was the lone shooter in the rampage at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin that killed six people and wounded four, according to information from law enforcement authorities.
Wade Michael Page, 40, was shot to death by police responding to the Sunday morning attack in the Milwaukee suburb of Oak Creek, the community's chief of police told reporters Monday.
It was the latest violence against the Sikh community in the United States in apparent misdirected revenge for the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
The attacker shot people inside and outside the temple, including a police officer. Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards said. Another police officer with a rifle then shot the gunman, who died at the scene.
According to Edwards, police have received information that the suspect "may have been involved in" the white supremacist movement, but he added it remains unconfirmed.
Two neighbors of Page identified him in photos that showed him playing in the far-right punk band "End Apathy," and the nephew of the slain president of the Sikh temple said the attacker had a 9/11 tattoo on his arm.

FBI: Seeking second "person of interest" in Oak Creek Sikh Temple shooting
The shooter who opened fire before worship services Sunday at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek and killed six people before he was killed by police is Wade Michael Page, a 40-year-old Army veteran, U.S. Attorney James A. Santelle said Monday.
He said officials believe he purchased the 9 mm handgun legally in Wisconsin.
At a news conference at 10 a.m., authorities said there were attempting to identify another person, a white male, who they described as "a person of interest."
A man matching the photo officials showed was seen by Journal Sentinel reporters at the scene of the temple Sunday, possibly video taping what was going on. Anyone with information on the man is asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
Page, 40, served in the military approximately between 1992 and 1998, Santelle said.
Other sources familiar with the shooting investigation said Wade was assigned to psychological operations, or PsyOps.
At the news briefing in Oak Creek, officials identified the Oak Creek police officer who was shot when he responded to the temple as Lt. Brian Murphy, 51, an experienced member of the department's tactical unit.
Murphy was a finalist for the Oak Creek police chief post in 2010 and has 21 years with the department
Satwant Singh Kaleka, 65, the temple president, was killed Sunday after attempting to tackle the gunman.

3 killed in shootings near Texas A&M University By the CNN Wire Staff
updated 9:50 PM EDT, Mon August 13, 2012
CNN) -- A Texas constable and two others were shot dead Monday in about a half an hour of gunfire near Texas A&M University, police said.
Scott McCollum, assistant chief with the College Station police department, told reporters Monday afternoon that the three people killed were the constable, the man authorities say exchanged gunfire with law enforcement officers and a male civilian.
The dead include Brian Bachmann, a constable in Brazos County, according to McCollum. The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund noted he is the sixth law enforcement official killed so far this year in Texas.
snip
The city of College Station on Monday night identified the suspect at the center of the standoff as 35-year-old Thomas Caffall.
snip
As to the third victim, described as a "civilian bystander," he was identified as 43-year-old Chris Northcliff of College Station. Police earlier had said he was 65 years old.
Four others suffered injuries in the roughly 30-minute ordeal after law enforcement officers arrived at a residence a few blocks from the Texas A&M campus.
They included College Station police Officer Justin Oehlke, who was shot in the calf, and two other officers -- one of whom refused transport to an area hospital -- who suffered "non-life-threatening injuries," McCollum said. A 55-year-old female civilian who was shot was undergoing surgery Monday afternoon at a hospital, according to the assistant police chief.
He explained that police got a call shortly after 12:10 p.m. from a citizen indicating shots had been fired in the residential area just south of the university campus. He added that the constable had gone to the residence to deliver an eviction notice.
Texas A&M issued a Code Maroon -- the university's emergency notification system -- at 12:29 p.m., telling people to avoid the area where there was a report of an "active shooter."
By then, two law enforcement officers who were nearby had responded and found the constable down in the front yard of a home. They "received fire from the suspect inside, ... took cover and defended themselves," McCollum said, noting other officers were then called to the scene.
"They ended up shooting the gunman," said the assistant police chief.
This happened about two blocks from where we used to live in College Station.
It is a neighborhood with a lot of faculty, staff and students. The homes are historical in nature as they all were "faculty housing" back in the 1940's.
A sad, sad day in Aggie Land.

Two officers killed, two wounded in Louisiana "ambush" From Rick Martin, CNN
updated 9:28 AM EDT, Thu August 16, 2012
(CNN) -- Two Louisiana sheriff's deputies died and two others were wounded early Thursday in what a state police official described as an ambush.
The assailant or assailants were still on the loose, Louisiana State Police Sgt. Ann Dusang said. State police SWAT teams, helicopters and troopers were involved in the search, she said.
The St. Johns Baptist Parish deputies, whose identities have not yet been released, were on traffic duty at the Bayou Steel Plant in LaPlace when the shootings happened in the parking lot around 5 a.m. (6 a.m. ET), Dusang said.

4 men, 3 women arrested in shooting of Louisiana sheriff's deputies By the CNN Wire Staff
updated 10:53 PM EDT, Fri August 17, 2012
(CNN) -- Four men and three women have been arrested in connection with shootings that left two Louisiana sheriff's deputies dead and two others wounded, police said Friday.
Their arrests, and the preliminary charges they are facing, follow a pair of allegedly linked shootings early Thursday in LaPlace, a community of about 30,000 people located roughly 25 miles west of New Orleans.
Five of those arrested are now in jail, while the two others remain hospitalized for treatment of gunshot wounds, Louisiana State Police spokesman Melissa Matey said Friday.
snip
All the charges levied against the suspects, thus far, apply to the first shooting that occurred around 5 a.m. in a parking lot near the Bayou Steel plant in LaPlace, according to police.
A man there shot Deputy Michael Boyington from the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office -- who was directing traffic at the time -- several times, Tregre said Thursday. Despite his injuries, Boyington told dispatchers about the suspect. His description, along with a civilian report of a speeding car, led responding officers to a nearby trailer park, the sheriff said.
Col. Michael Edmonson, superintendent of the Louisiana State Police, said Friday that investigators have determined that five of those under arrest were in the car that sped from the scene.
snip
Brian Lyn Smith, 24, will be charged with attempted first-degree murder of a police officer tied to Boyington's shooting, police said.
Four others -- 44-year-old Terry Smith, 22-year-old Derrick Smith, 28-year-old Kyle David Joekel and 21-year-old Teniecha Bright -- each face charges of being a principal to attempted first-degree murder of a police officer. Chanel Skains, 37, and Brittney Keith, 23, have been charged with being an accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, authorities said.
Brian Smith and Joekel will be formally charged after their release from the hospital, according to information released Friday by the parish sheriff's office.
snip
All those facing charges lived in one of three nearby addresses on the same street in LaPlace. And they could face additional charges tied to the second shooting later Thursday at a trailer park in that same city.
In that incident, deputies who had gone there to investigate the initial shooting were questioning two people when a man ambushed them, Tregre said.
Multiple weapons were used and at least 20 shots were fired in this shooting, according to Edmonson.
St. John the Baptist Sheriff's Deputies Brandon Nielsen, 34, and Jeremy Triche, 28, were killed in the gunfire. Nielsen was married with five children and Triche had a wife and a 2-year-old son, Tregre told reporters.
Deputy Jason Triche -- who is not related to Jeremy Triche -- was wounded in that shooting, according to Louisiana State Trooper Evan Harrell.

2 dead, 9 wounded in Empire State Building shootings, police say
A disgruntled former apparel designer was killed Friday morning in a hail of police gunfire in front of the Empire State Building after he shot and killed a co-worker and engaged in a gunbattle with two officers, authorities said.
At least nine others were wounded in the incident as the officers unloaded 14 rounds at the gunman, who apparently turned his weapon against them in one of Manhattan's busiest neighborhoods.

"We have on tape the perpetrator pulled his gun out and tried to shoot at the cops," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. "Whether he got off any bullets or not, to be determined."
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the bystanders were not hit directly by police, but rather the officers' struck "flowerpots and other objects around, so ... their bullets fragmented and, in essence, that's what caused the wounds."
Earlier Friday, Bloomberg told reporters that some of the wounded may have been inadvertently hit in the crossfire or by ricocheting bullets.
Six of the wounded were treated and released at hospitals as of Friday evening, while three others remained hospitalized, Kelly said.

Wednesday, Dec 12, 2012 2:43 PM UTC Masked gunman opens fire on holiday shoppers Three people were left dead, including the shooter, in an Oregon mall VIDEO
excerpts According to reports, the rifle-wielding gunman, who wore a hockey mask, fired over twenty shots, killing two people and then himself. The shooter, believed to be in his twenties, has been tentatively identified but police are not yet releasing his name. More than 10,000 shoppers were at the mall during the day, police said. The AP reported that witnesses heard the gunman cry, “I am the shooter” before he opened fire. No motives have been identified.
As the shooting started many of the shoppers immediately took cover or hid in stores inside the mall while the gunman fired as many as 60 shots.
the number of law enforcement officers responding to the scene -- at least 100 -- helped reduce the number of casualties as well as the fact that the shooter's gun jammed. None of the officers fired weapons.
Witnesses described the gunman as wearing a white mask and carrying a high-powered rifle. They said he fired a series of rounds in the mall's food court area. of the mall.
"He kept on shooting, and he kept on walking," Pavlenko said. "He wasn't running. He was walking so slow. He dropped the thing he used to load bullets, and he just slowly picked it up and put back in again."
(The identity of the shooter and two victims who were fatally shot will be released at 1pm Pacific time.)

Details, but no answers to Oregon mall shooting
By Mariano Castillo and Holly Yan, CNN
updated 4:08 PM EST, Wed December 12, 2012
CNN) -- The gunman, having shot three people at an Oregon mall, initially tried to flee.
Fearful shoppers hid in stores and behind racks as the man ran down a corridor and to a back hallway that led downstairs.
By then, he likely heard the sirens as dozens of police officers converged on the Clackamas Town Center in Happy Valley.
The gunman, dressed in a load-bearing vest and a mask, then decided to take his own life.
Details of Tuesday's deadly mall shooting began to emerge, but the biggest question -- Why? -- remained unanswered.
At a news conference on Wednesday, investigators identified a 22-year-old man as the lone suspect responsible for shooting three people -- two of them fatally -- at the mall in suburban Portland.
Sheriff's investigators said they believe Jacob Tyler Roberts acted alone in what they described as a "heinous, horrible, tragic crime."
But for those looking for a motive, all investigators shared for now was that there was no apparent connection between the shooter and his victims.
The man and woman who were fatally shot were Cindy Ann Yuille, 54, and Steven Mathew Forsyth, 45.

Police: 20 children among 26 victims of Connecticut school shooting
By Susan Candiotti and Michael Pearson, CNN
updated 6:05 PM EST, Fri December 14, 2012
Newtown, Connecticut (CNN) -- In one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history, a gunman opened fire Friday in a Connecticut elementary school, killing 26 people, 20 of them children, police said.
The suspected gunman, who was not identified by police, also was killed, apparently by his own hand.
One person was wounded.
The mass shootings occurred in one section of Sandy Hook Elementary School and spanned two classrooms, said Lt. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police.
Among the dead were the school's principal and psychologist, according to a parent who was at the school when the incident happened.
Separately, another adult was found dead at a second location in Newtown, Vance said. A law enforcement source with detailed knowledge of the investigation identified that person as Nancy Lanza, the mother of the suspected shooter, who was found dead at her son's home. She was a teacher at Sandy Hook, sources said.
Vance described "a very tragic, tragic scene," noting the carnage first responders witnessed when they arrived.
"I have difficulty putting it into words," Vance told CNN, adding that he has "seen some horrific things, and this is right up there with them."
Police recovered three weapons from the scene: a semi-automatic .223 Bushmaster, a Glock and a Sig Sauer, a source with knowledge of the investigation said. Vance said that the medical examiner will determine the cause of death for the gunman, though he noted that police never discharged their weapons.
Meanwhile, authorities in Hoboken, New Jersey, were questioning a man believed to be the brother of the suspected shooter, two law enforcement sources said.

Sorry, freak, but we in the US need to stop this senseless violence.
There is absolutely NO reason anyone needs an automatic rifle or handgun. These are built to massacre human beings. They are not for hunting or protection.
Once these 20 kids are buried, it is time for a loonnnggg period of soul searching in my country. The NRA has had its way for absolutely too long.
We need to do a better job of background checking individuals who purchase guns and ammunition and we need to clamp down on the manufacture and sale of automatic weapons.
Over the past few months we have seen an horrific increase in the number of victims of mass murder in this country topped off now by the brutal murder of 20 children most of them age 5/6 up to 10 years of age.
This is a very, very sad day in America.
We also need to take a cold, hard look at psychological services available to American citizens. We seem to have a culture of death and violence by young men. Had someone (anyone) spoken up about this young man, perhaps this horrific mass murder could have been prevented.
God help us!

Re: SHOOTINGS - UNUSUAL VIOLENCE
excerpts from new reports as of 7:47pm:
* The shootings at the school took place in two rooms, one of which is a kindergarten classroom, sources said. One entire classroom is unaccounted for.
* the shooter is 20-year-old Adam Lanza. When he was found, he had his brother Ryan Lanza’s identification, which initially led to confusion about his identity, police said. He was dressed in black fatigues, police said. A law enforcement official said the boys' mother, Nancy Lanza, worked at the school as a teacher.
(Ryan Lanza was picked up by police in New Jersey and questioned, but is not a suspect. He was taken in handcuffs, however, and is still in custody - protective perhaps.)
* Ryan Lanza had been extremely cooperative, was not believed to have any involvement in the rampage and was not under arrest or in custody, (yes he was...) but investigators were still searching his computers and phone records. Ryan Lanza told law enforcement he had not been in touch with his brother since about 2010.
* The only mass shooting in the U.S. with more than 27 killed since the 1950s took place on April 16, 2007, when a student named Seung-Hui Cho shot and killed 32 people at Virginia Tech in Blackburg, Va., before shooting himself.
* Adam Lanza ... had no known criminal record, a law enforcement official said. His mother and father were divorced. His father had remarried and lived not too far from Newtown, an official said.
The following from an unknown site called RYOT news so TIFWIW:
* Adam Lanza’s girlfriend and another friend are missing in New Jersey.
* Adam Lanza’s mother, who was killed, had had a dispute with her son prior to the shooting. __________________________
* The first official said Adam Lanza is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
* the suspect drove to the scene of the shootings in his mother’s car. Three guns were found at the scene — a Glock and a Sig Sauer, both pistols — and a .223-caliber rifle. The rifle was recovered from the back of a car at the school. The two pistols were recovered from inside the school.

Re: SHOOTINGS - UNUSUAL VIOLENCE
ABC News reports that Adam Lanza may have suffered from mental illness including obsessive compulsive disorder and a learning disability known as Asperger’s syndrome.
The way that mental illness is addressed and treated in the United States has been pulled into the spotlight following the tragedy, posing the question do we as Americans do enough to help those with mental illness and learning disabilities.
Ryan Lanza, 24, brother of gunman Adam Lanza, 20, tells authorities that his younger brother is autistic, or has Asperger syndrome and a “personality disorder.” Neighbors described the younger man to ABC as “odd” and displaying characteristics associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
The weapons used in the shooting were legally purchased and registered to Nancy Lanza, (the shooter's mother) two law enforcement officials told NBC News.
According to former FBI profiler and NBC News analyst Cliff Van Zandt, the gunman's outfit suggested he imagined a role for himself that bordered on that of a combatant. Police say the gunman killed his mother – and because matricide is such a taboo in every society, Van Zandt says the killer was capable of doing just about anything.
Funny how they are all automatically stapled as Asperger's Syndrome which is a crock of Sh!t IMHO More Asperger's syndrome BASHING anything to hurt people with Asperger's Syndrome More like he had Schizophrenia
IF he did have Asperger's syndrome (highly unlikely) he must of been really Hurt real bad this is the way he communicated it.
Obviously he was sick of taking his mothers abuse! this is what happens when you harm an Asperger's syndrome person too much.
We are sick of the pain you Normals lump on us.
This was Adams only way of communicating his PAIN!

And on the other side of the world, on the same day, Chinese man goes on stabbing spree at a school: 22 kids hurt Agencies : Beijing, Fri Dec 14 2012, 20:19 hrs
The dreaded attacks on school children returned to haunt China today after 22 of them were injured besides an 85-year-old woman after a "mentally deranged" man, armed with a knife, went on a slashing spree at a primary school.
Armed with a knife Min Yingjun, 36 attacked group of children at the gate of a primary school in central China's Henan Province setting off panic in the village.
The woman and most of the injured students suffered head wounds.
Some of them were in shock, according to the People's Hospital of the county, which received most of the people injured in the attack.
All the injured people have been sent to three local hospitals and at least two of them, one student and an 85-year-old woman, are in serious condition, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Local police said they had detained Min, stated to be mentally deranged person.

Re: SHOOTINGS - UNUSUAL VIOLENCE
WARNING: CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE - BE ADVISED.
Here are your parasites and terrorists, m*therf*ckers
To the cadre of soulless assholes who delight in condemning teachers and others dedicated to the public education of our nation's youngsters, with apologies for being utterly unable to be polite, I have one message:
FUCK YOU.
Fuck you, Michelle Malkin, for saying this last June:
Quote:
They really outdid themselves. In Wisconsin and across the nation, public school employee unions spared no kiddie human shields in their battle against GOP Gov. Scott Walker's budget and pension reforms. Students were the first and last casualties of the ruthless Big Labor war against fiscal discipline.
To kick off the yearlong protest festivities, the Wisconsin Education Association Council led a massive "sickout" of educators and other government school personnel ... When they weren't ditching their students, radical teachers steeped in the social justice ethos of National Education Association-approved community organizer Saul Alinsky were shamelessly using other people's children as their own political junior lobbyists and pawns.
Outside your Townhall bubble, this is the reality of the Sandy Hook teachers yesterday:
Quote:
As a massacre unfolded, the teachers of Sandy Hook were the heroes of the hour.
They hid their small charges, remained calm, and quietly led them outside - instructing them to close their eyes so they would be shielded from the carnage.
One of the most damning aspects of this tragedy is that the teachers knew immediately what was unfolding: another school shooting.
Fuck you, random Free Republic douchebag, and your pissing and moaning about teachers making too much money -- and for the charming picture of teachers with photoshopped pig faces. Because preparing and training for sudden mass violence is now part of the fucking job:
Quote:
Schools nationwide have increased security measures since the shooting at Columbine. Many have installed metal detectors, developed detailed crisis plans, implemented policies to keep doors locked and accessible only by buzzer, and put teachers and staff through training on how to recognize and deal with threats.
Fuck you, Chris Christie, for threatening to freeze teacher pay, among other things. Does this teacher make too much?
Quote:
Maryrose Kristopik said she barricaded herself in to the closet with the nine and 10-year-olds while gunman Adam Lanza, 20, reportedly battered on the door screaming: ‘Let me in! Let me in!’...
Asked about the incident itself, Mrs Kristopik said that you could ‘hear a lot’ of what was going on - and denied that she was a hero.
She said: ‘I called the police, I dialled 911 and they said they had reports of shots in the school, so that's when I had to tell the kids there was a bad person there because I didn't want them to talk.
‘I did what any other teacher would have done and I know there were others like me doing the same. They were doing whatever they could."
Fuck you, Rod Paige, for calling the NEA a "terrorist organization." Here is just one of the souls to whom you refer:
Quote:
Janet Vollmer, a kindergarten teacher at the school, says she locked her classroom doors and – to keep her students calm – read them a story until the police came. Vollmer, her 19 students and the adult helpers in her classroom were not injured.
"You could hear what sounded like pops, gunshots. Of course, I’m not going to tell that to 5-year-olds, so I said to them, ‘We’re going over in a safe area,'" Vollmer told CNN's Anderson Cooper. "And we read a story and we kept them calm, did a lockdown drill, closed the doors, locked (them), covered the windows, and kept the children with us.”
Fuck you, Katie Pavlich, and your snide remarks about Michigan teachers just this week:
Quote:
Many Michigan schools are closed today as hundreds of teachers converge on the Capitol in Lansing to protest Michigan right-to-work legislation which was just passed by Republicans and is headed to Governor Snyder's desk. ... Remember: it's all about the kids.
Yea, it actually is all about the kids.
Quote:
Another quick-thinking member of staff was Kaitlin Roig whose ''happy'' morning meeting with her 14 students was suddenly interrupted by the unmistakable sound of rapid gunfire.
Ms Roig, 29, said she leapt up, closed her classroom door and then ushered the children, aged six and seven, into the adjacent bathroom. It was so tight some of the pupils had to be balanced on top of the toilet so they could all squeeze in. She then jammed a wheeled storage unit in front of the door and hoped for the best. ''We all got in there. I locked us in,'' she told America's ABC Network. ''I don't know if [the gunman] came in the room … I just told them we have to be absolutely quiet.
''If they started crying, I would take their face and tell them, 'It's going to be OK,''' Ms Roig said. ''I wanted that to be the last thing they heard, not the gunfire in the hall.''
And fuck you, Rush Limbaugh, always and forever, for calling teachers parasites and doubling down with this:
Quote:
Can we get rid of the myth once and for all that school teachers, anymore, are these average, ordinary (as Obama wants to say), next-door neighbors who are just doing everything they can to further the educational experience of your children?
That's not who they are. They are left-wing activists, active members of unions who are oriented first by a political agenda, second by their own well-being, and your kids come last.
Here are a few more of those self-serving parasites, demonstrating their selfishness, their utter disregard of the children entrusted to their care:
Quote:
In the library, Yvonne Cech, a librarian, locked herself, an assistant and 18 fourth graders in a closet behind filing cabinets while the sound of gunfire thundered outside. Diane Day, a school therapist, hailed the school's unnamed ''lead teacher'' as ''our hero'' after she was shot twice while barricading a lockless door with her body to keep Lanza out of a classroom occupied by staff who had been in a meeting before the shooting.
Ms Day told The Wall Street Journal that, after the school principal, Dawn Hochsprung, and school psychologist Mary Sherlach had run out of the room to see what was happening, the shooter arrived and tried to force entry. Lanza was thwarted by the teacher who was wounded in the leg and arm as he opened fire through the door.
Ms Hochsprung and Ms Sherlach did not return and were later confirmed dead.
The Stamford Advocate reports the brave principal had, crucially, managed to activate the school's public address system before she was killed. In alerting the rest of her school that a killer was on the rampage, the principal's last courageous act almost certainly prevented further bloodshed.
Fuck the whole lot of you. You don't deserve to breathe the same air as our public servants. Would you risk death to shield a child? No, if the security of your gated world failed you, you'd all be running for the door trying to save your own asses and pushing anyone who got in your way to the ground.
Let me conclude with a passage from an angry rant I posted directed to Rush Limbaugh after comments he made about Elizabeth Edwards' battle against breast cancer. That's a personal issue for me because I lost my own sister to breast cancer. I concluded the post with this with this:
Quote:
Rush, I'll never get people like you. You don't understand suffering. You don't understand kindness. You don't understand love and support, whether between two people or among a community. You seem to understand nothing but your ego and your own ignorant sense of self importance.
But for as much as I don't get about you or your kind, there's one thing I'm pretty sure of: When you try to check in at the pearly gates, it'll be my sister who's going to kick your fat ass straight to hell.
Ditto, and that goes for the rest of the hate-mongering crowd.
Update: Via DisNoir36 in the comments:
Quote:
This is Victoria Soto, and although I didn't know her, she is my hero. I don't know too much about her, but I know a lot of people who do know her and she's amazing. Victoria was a Stratford high graduate and only 27. She was killed today after she hid her first graders in closets and cabinets and told the shooter they were in the gym. He killed her and not one of her children were harmed. I have never been more proud to be from Stratford or to be a teacher. God bless Victoria, her family and friends, and all of those who were involved today in anyway. Victoria is a true hero.

Re: SHOOTINGS - UNUSUAL VIOLENCE
I just saw a video that Dutchsinse shared on FB. It is made by somebody called Idahopicker. I can not of course comment on him or his authenticity, but the clips he shows seem to be from common news sources. Here is the link to the video, then some of the highlights of its contents:
The father of Adam Lanza, who works at GE Capital, is scheduled to testify in the LIBOR scandal, as is the father of the shooter in the Batman massacre.
At the firehouse, after kids had been evacuated there, one boy reports there "was a man down on the ground in handcuffs". They couldn't see him clearly because there was a car in the way.
Another man was chased into the woods and taken down, seen in video lying on ground on his face with handcuffs. on. (three shooters? or what? why aren't they reporting on this?)
on a police scanner, one officer reports he has the suspect proned out. Meanwhile there is a dead shooter, Adam Lanza, in a classroom.
Adam Lanza's mother does not appear on the list of personnel at the school, found on its website.
One comment: it is possible that the man they apprehended in the woods behind the school is the same one that they again "prone out" in front of the firehouse. I did hear reports of this man in the woods on original broadcasts, early on in the day, but nothing since. He was definitely seen on a video taken from the air, it appears, running away from police, then taken down and lying on the ground. I have no answers, only questions.

Re: SHOOTINGS - UNUSUAL VIOLENCE
Rumor that Peter Lanza is scheduled to testify in LIBOR scandal
December 16, 2012 - Echos of the Batman Massacre – James Holmes father a high priest of computer economics at FICO – Allegedly investigating the LIBOR scandal which has indeed faded after the Aurora shootings… GE Capital is owned by GE – yeah THAT GE that operates outside of the law! Founded by JP Morgan to corner the market in electricity (stolen Tesla patents) – GE is now a media – military industrial complex kingpin! Morgan Stanley has also been implicated in the LIBOR Scandal!
According to Yahoo news, the alleged shooter at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, Adam Lanza, is the son of Vice President of GE Capital, Peter Lanza. Peter Lanza is also a partner at Ernst & Young, and major accounting firm. The older brother, Ryan Lanza, is also reported to be employed at Ernst & Young.
Peter Lanza, who drove to northern New Jersey to talk to police and the FBI, is a vice president at GE Capital and had been a partner at global accounting giant Ernst & Young.
Adam’s older brother Ryan Lanza, 24, has worked at Ernst & Young for four years, apparently following in his father’s footsteps and carving out a solid niche in the tax practice. He too was interviewed by the FBI. Neither he nor his father is under any suspicion.
