Scientists Warn Supervolcano Will Destroy U.S
Posted on truther on February 11, 2012 // 2 Comments

Some of the world’s smartest geophysicists aren’t sleeping well anymore..... what they thought they knew about volcanoes wasn’t quite right. But now they know the truth—the terrifying reality—supervolcanoes are activating and can destroy America at any time. Maybe in 100 years…or maybe as early as next week…

snip

... two scientific papers published recently reassessed the danger of several ominous U.S. volcanoes: one in Death Valley, the Ubehebe Crater, is half a mile wide and more than 700 feet deep. Believed to have last erupted thousands of years ago, it’s now known to have blasted away during the 14th Century.

The other volcano, the famous Crater Lake cauldera in Oregon, can recharge itself in a few short decades and then explode with super-massive destructive force. Until lately, scientists believed that volcanoes also required thousands of years to become dangerously active again.

The changes in knowledge that have come rapidly the past few years now have some scientists biting their nails over the Doomsday supervolcano in Yellowstone Park. That volcano has shown all the signs of becoming active: parts of the ground have heated to just under 1,000⁰ F while the earth is bulging from a building lava dome and a lake has completely boiled away.

Well - we have two to three months to find out about this, as the Earth will be in opposition to where PX is supposed to be in March and this spells for a "streeeeetch" of the planet in many terms between the gravity of the Sun and PX.

Same things is going down for the Rift valley in Africa. Ethiopia is showing massive cracks developing over large distances not seen before.... heading down to Mozambique.

:hmm

2/13/2012 — FOUR different dormant volcanic chains show activity — Southwest USA be aware
Posted on February 13, 2012

Watch the video update here:

A series of 3.0M+ earthquakes have struck the southwest portion of Utah over the past day … (2/12/2012) …

If you look up the coordinates of the earthquakes — using the USGS information — you will see what is at the earthquake epicenter.

As with SEVERAL past earthquakes recently, there is a noticeable uptick in earthquake activity near old dormant volcano sites, near man made drilling sites, and also at nuclear reactor sites.

All three of these aforementioned sites have ONE thing in common — deep shafts which are beneath them in the earth — man made facilities dig multiple miles down for fracking/oil drilling … and natural deep tubes penetrate into the earths crust underneath dormant volcanic areas.

WHY we are seeing an earthquake swarm in south west Utah? Let me just say, its not happening at a random spot.

The swarm is due to the global uptick .. the global uptick in earthquake activity at volcanic sites in particular .. in america this translates to the pressure on the craton (laurentia). The pressure on the plate from the movement in the Pacific.. is causing earthquakes at ANY site along the edge of the north american craton that has a deep shaft dug into the crust.

Whether it be at a dormant volcano, an active volcano, a fracking well, a drilling site, or at a nuclear power plant… if there is a shaft, and if that shaft is on the edge of the craton (in any of these states — WA, ID, MT, WY, UT, CO, NM, AZ, TX, OK, AR, TN, MO, KY, OH, SC, NC, VA, WV, NY, VT, ME, south east canada Ontario/Quebec) — be on the look out for future quakes at the shaft sites in each respective location.

CRATON

A craton (Greek: κράτος kratos "strength") is an old and stable part of the continental lithosphere. Having often survived cycles of merging and rifting of continents, cratons are generally found in the interiors of tectonic plates. They are characteristically composed of ancient crystalline basement rock, which may be covered by younger sedimentary rock. They have a thick crust and deep lithospheric roots that extend as much as a few hundred kilometers into the Earth's mantle.

The term craton is used to distinguish the stable portion of the continental crust from regions that are more geologically active and unstable. Cratons can be described as shields, in which the basement rock crops out at the surface, and platforms, in which the basement is overlain by sediments and sedimentary rock.

Another warning re: supervolcanoes:

This Is the Way the World Ends? Volcanoes Could Darken World

Are you worried about the end of life as we know it? Then don't just look to the sky for that catastrophic asteroid that could be heading our way. The end may come from right beneath your feet.

Super-volcanoes have probably caused more extinctions than asteroids. But until now it has been thought that these giant volcanoes took thousands of years to form -- and would remain trapped beneath the earth's crust for thousands more years -- before having much effect on the planet.

But new research indicates these catastrophic eruptions, possibly thousands of times more powerful than the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens, may happen only a few hundred years after the volcanoes form. In other words, they may have a very "short fuse," according to researchers at Vanderbilt University.

snip

Such an event could make thermonuclear war or global warming seem trivial, spewing untold tons of ash into the atmosphere to block sunlight. The result would be many years of frigid temperatures, wiping out millions of species.
