Post can we talk about mental health in scary times?
in my vow to remove advertising and the msm from my life, making all the tvs in my home either gaming stations, music/movie enjoyment venues and general dust gatherers as I start using my library card a whole lot more, I remembered something I had forgotten. How that immersing yourself into joviality from another source, in my case Robert Earl Keen, can change your whole outlook long after that input is over. Its a tool "they" use on us all the time to sell us stuff we do not need. I know I used to sell water. I did the adds, I bought limbaugh time for gosh, sake, I knew who had the money and the motivation to buy water. I am still pretty angry, see? but after just a few minutes with my man, robert, I will be feeling much better. I am really trying to not use any of the negative emotions in the present. Any way thought this would be a good topic in survival, cause guys I think we are in the middle of it, surviving, I mean. thanks for all you have done for me in these pages. I will be reading alot more, here while I can.

Barb - glad to see you back.

I can tell you from Ike that negative emotions don't enable one to survive.

The whole experience became so intense that negativity was merely a waste of time. Feeling sorry for yourself didn't make the work of survival easier - it just made it more difficult.

How to stay positive is a great topic for all of us. :clap

Robert Earl Keen, huh? Never woulda thunk it. ;)

My favorite:

All I Have Is Today

Quote:
I woke up in another strange place by a 40 acre parking lot with every kind of sign
I was talking to another strange face who was tellin’ me that he didn’t have the time

All I want to do is climb that mountain; All I need is the other way
All I am is a lost soul, searchin’ All I have is today

I was walkin’ through the sands of silver to the Saphire canyon on the River of Jade
I was followin’ a gold sun settin’ when suddenly the light began to fade…

All I want to do is climb that mountain; All I need is the other way
All I am is a lost soul, searchin’ All I have is today

I was ridin’ in a black Tornado with the top pulled down and the lights on dim.
I heard angels singin’ in the darkness, singin’ some Southern gospel hymn…

All I want to do is climb that mountain; All I need is the other way
All I am is a lost soul, searchin’ All I have is today

I was thinkin’ ‘bout a man and woman who were tryin’ to make a livin’ that Sammy wouldn't steal.
I should tell ya if I haven’t told ya, this is exactly how I feel…

All I want to do is climb that mountain; All I need is the other way
All I am is a lost soul, searchin’ All I have is today

Yeah, baby! :heart
