Bulgaria declares nationwide swine flu epidemic
All hospital visits as well as regular medical checks for pregnant women and babies will be suspended and planned operations postponed.
Bulgaria’s health ministry declared a nationwide swine flu epidemic on Friday as the country reported its sixth death from the A(H1N1) virus.
The rate of infection necessary for declaring an epidemic — 200 infected people for every 10,000 — was already surpassed in Bulgaria, the ministry said in a statement.
Schools across the country will be closed all of next week. Local authorities will decide whether to also shut kindergartens and universities.

when the hysteria doesn’t jive with the facts – lose the facts. They’ve stopped testing for swine flu in August – so how do they know how many cases of swine flu there really are. Prior to August less than 10% of suspected flu cases were positive for H1N1.

You should actually check Dr. Mercola’s claims against the facts. While the CDC has indeed stopped testing for H1N1, those who have bad cases are routinely tested, albeit not by the feds; and the test results bear out the claim that almost all the flu now out there is swine flu.
I personally know several people—some of them gravely ill—who have tested positive for H1N1. This is a fact, and not “hysteria.”
You should check out Dr. Meryl Nass’s blog, “Anthrax Vaccine.” She’s well-informed about all this, without endorsing the swine flu vaccine, which, to put it mildly, she does _not_ recommend.
