pointing out infiltrators...
---- he says, the occupy people have not produced
anything worthwhile for almost 2 weeks – can we say controlled. heh

“I believe these people are on scene to hack into the laptops of bona fide protestors, to help intelligence agencies develop dossiers. I was specifically told that there were a total of 3 on site by the guy who tried to get me to make anti-semitic slurs.”

Interesting this comes from British press and not US MSM - or shall I say "lame stream media.

Occupy Oakland: second Iraq war veteran injured after police clashes

A second Iraq war veteran has suffered serious injuries after clashes between police and Occupy movement protesters in Oakland. :evil

Kayvan Sabehgi, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, is in intensive care with a lacerated spleen. He says he was beaten by police close to the Occupy Oakland camp, but despite suffering agonising pain, did not reach hospital until 18 hours later.

Sabehgi, 32, is the second Iraq war veteran to be hospitalised following involvement in Oakland protests. Another protester, Scott Olsen, suffered a fractured skull on 25 October.

On Wednesday night, police used teargas and non-lethal projectiles to drive back protesters following an attempt by the Occupy supporters to shut down the city of Oakland.

Sabehgi told the Guardian from hospital he was walking alone along 14th Street in central Oakland – away from the main area of clashes – when he was injured.

"There was a group of police in front of me," he told the Guardian from his hospital bed. "They told me to move, but I was like: 'Move to where?' There was nowhere to move.

"Then they lined up in front of me. I was talking to one of them, saying 'Why are you doing this?' when one moved forward and hit me in my arm and legs and back with his baton. Then three or four cops tackled me and arrested me."

Heavy police presence as Occupiers march

Hundreds of Occupy Sydney protesters have taken to the streets under the watchful eyes of a heavy police presence.

People from all walks of life converged on Town Hall at midday today bearing banners with slogans such as "You can't eat money" and "Stop police brutality".

The Occupy Sydney activists, who are part of a worldwide protest against corporate greed, have vowed to reoccupy Martin Place indefinitely, despite police assurances they will be removed at 4.30pm today.

"99 per cent, 99 per cent, 99 per cent", protesters chanted as they gathered at Town Hall for speeches.

Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) Sydney branch secretary Paul McAleer told the crowd they were part of "the most inspirational movement of working people in the history of humanity".

"It doesn't matter what country you live in or what union you belong to or what religion you are or what colour you are.

"The 99 per cent says we are together and we are not going to be exploited or repressed any longer," he said to massive cheers.

There was a significant police presence at the rally, with riot squad officers, mounted police and two police trucks on standby.

At first, I was hesitant to post this here. Normally, I post these musings in the spirituality section so as not to offend non-Christians on the board.

However, this topic is rapidly becoming number one in my small world of social justice Christians - therefore I throw it out to you - the community at large.

Occupy Wall Street, the Church, and the Apocalypse

by Jeremy John Saturday, November 5th, 2011

How long have we been comfortable in the 1st world church? Nourishing ourselves on the warm broth of prayer and fellowship, resting and gathering strength, singing worship songs that seek an inward peace from God, a strengthened personal faith.

How much time do we spend on theologies seeking to eradicate lust, or to be more grateful for what we have? How long have we spent on our morning devotions, alone?

As another time understood, “Idle hands are the devils playthings.”

It’s not so much that the 1st world church isn’t busy with the tasks before it, but rather, what is before it is its own personal care. The church has become chaplain to itself rather than chaplain to the world. And I mean, world, in the Christian sense. It’s nourishing itself rather than nourishing those who are outside its fold. It has ignored a missional call, exchanging it for self care.

We are taking care of those in the 1st world church who are unhappy in spite of wealth, stuck at jobs where they feel like a cog, suffering from diseases that are the result of a fast-paced lifestyle filled with unhealthy foods, stress, and environmental toxins, with minds crippled by the parade of consumer goods and unrealistic lives we watch on television to calm ourselves after a day that leaves us strangely unsatisfied.

And are we nourished? Are we yet strong enough to act in nonviolence as the hands and feet of Christ in this world? Or are our muscles atrophied from disuse?

Yes, we are the 99%. We have mortgages, families, and spend 50 billion on household pets, while millions starve. Some of use are the 53%. Some are even the 1%.

But there is something that is looming on the horizon, some rough beast slouches towards our bed, where we sleep fitfully, waiting for our alarm’s call to beckon us to another day of work.

On the horizon is the spectre of world-devouring capitalism. Not compassionate capitalism, mind you. This is a beast that sweeps aside safety regulations, human rights, and decency. It poisons whole communities and oceans. It speculates, greedily inflating economies with empty promise, only to play dead and steal 400 billion dollars from not just the US treasury, but the world.

It is the walking dead, the machine that nobody is responsible for, the zombie profit-machine that nobody set in motion but we all tend, it feeds on the blood of the earth, oil, and crushes the poor with its stride. Nobody, supposedly, is guiding it, but if it is not fed, it, being “too big to fail” will collapse and crush all the people and houses that it walks among.

Church, this is what is coming towards you. You were given the charge by Jesus to be salt and light of the earth. You are the guardians of love, self-sacrifice, frugality, humility. You are the watchmen, the lamp. Where are you now? Where are you as this rough beast slouches towards Bethlehem, towards your families, currencies, and mortgages?

Awaken, slumberer! You have grown fat, yes, and anxious. But throw off your blankets and heed this midnight call!

Or all that you have lived for will be destroyed. View my vision. Tell me it cannot be.

Population growth will continue. If we make cheap, easy choices influenced by corporate lobbies like oil, we will expand mining of the Tar Sands and other less-available resources rather than switching to renewable resources.

The air will choke with the burning of natural resources, causing global warming. Desertification will grip the drylands. The seas will rise. Factory labor will continue, producing environmental toxins which we don’t know how to remove. The air will heat, changing the climate. The fragile, beautiful animals, plants, and people will die. The barren earth will be littered with beautiful, twitching butterflies.

Populations will crush into already packed urban centers. Over the next 50 years, mercury and other toxins, the result of coal burned power and other industry, collects in the fish and water, causing madness among the poor. The walls around the gated communities will grow, militarize. Gas masks will appear in ordinary life as the air is poisoned. The drums of war will sound as the weapons lobby seizes its moment, when whole countries become deserts, uninhabitable, like the Spanish farms.

Earthquakes and tsunamis will increase in frequency, starvation, wars and rumors of war, signs of the biblical apocalypse, not brought on by God, but by our own greed, crucifying the earth itself as we crucified Christ.

This is but one vision, there are many others. Possible worlds, they exist if we do not take action. They exist if we do not tear ourselves away from the forces that demand a quick profit without looking at the future, forces that are deeply embedded in our political processes, suborning our democratic processes with quick and easy money and facile tongues.

Nobody was at the helm, you will say. Certainly it was not I who piloted the earth’s death machine, you will say. I had bills to pay and a mortgage. I had to drive to work because there was no suitable public transportation. And you will be right. You did not do it.

But you know what? Your grandchildren will not care. Asthmatic, they will simply focus, as you and I did, on surviving the harsh climate of avaricious capitalism.

This is the clarion. Awake! Stand up to the companies that seek profit above human rights and the environment. Demand the the government extricate itself from the big money influences of oil, weapons manufacturers, and the private prison lobby. Organize.

Occupy wall street and occupy church. Are the protesters too dirty, young, or radical? They are the only people who can afford to spend 24/7 at a permanent encampment. Thank them for doing that for you. And maybe come down once a week with your nice sleeping bag and tent. Be respectable, and be among them. Wear your suit and be proud of what you have worked to be, if you are proud of it. If you don’t like them, organize yourselves. But occupy, sleeper. Join the clarion call! Raise your voice.

Repent! Repent. And in repentance, walk towards your own salvation, the salvation of the church, and the salvation of this country, and the earth.

Who am I? I am a sleeper, wakening.

OccupyMARINES

www.OccupyMARINES.org Marines support the movement. We will support demonstrators with organization, direction, supply and logistics, and leadership.
Do not worry Naysayers, the MARINES have your back….AGAIN.
We Support You America Keep Pushing Forward

OccupyMARINES

http://www.politicususa.com/en/occupy-m ... nationwide
United States Marine Corps. Sergeant Shamar Thomas in a spectacular moment defended the protesters of Occupy Wall Street while staring into the faces of thirty NYPD officers, and now countless other Marines have organized in an amazing show of solidarity.
Sgt. Thomas’ gallant actions in standing up for American citizens being brutalized by the police were shown in a video which has gone viral with almost 2 million views. Marines have joined forces with #OccupyMarines in solidarity with the movement not just in New York, but nationwide:
“OccupyMARINES Are Currently Assessing The Current Situation To Ascertain What Is Currently Needed To Support OWS America. We Are Humbled At The Substantial Support OWS America Has Provided And Ask That Everyone Continue As You All Do While We Implement Organization Nationwide. As We All Know, ‘Occupy’ Groups Are Being Established Even Now And Would Like To See This Trend Continue.”
Their website OccupyMarines.org presents a post centering on continuing the Occupy movement throughout the upcoming winter. In their call for “Non-Active ‘Occupy’ Military Supporters Only” they’re organizing a dress code in order to identify their branch affiliation.
Instead of ostracizing the police, the Marines are attempting to reach out to them much like Sgt. Thomas did.
#OrganizeMarines states, “Security forces/police should be seen as potential recruits to our cause and message, not as adversaries. Ultimately, they are accountable to the people.”
During Sgt. Thomas’ bold speech, the police presence became suddenly solemn hanging on his every word. Perhaps the presence of Marines will awaken the Police force which has been overwhelming the protests.
Presenting their group and the Occupiers as a peaceful movement, no matter what, including verbal attacks and/or propaganda brought forth from those opposing the protest they state, “Defensive strategies never win. Do not respond to verbal attacks or hostile propaganda from Nay-Sayers by using the language of the opponent. Reframe.”
Meet Iraq veteran Alex E. Limkin:
“I swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against enemies both foreign, and domestic.”
Veteran Alex Limkin said:
“There is nothing more central to a free and democratic people than the right to dissent, the right to disagree, the right to stand up in the town square and be heard… I feel quite sure that in standing in solidarity with the peaceful Occupy Wall Street movement, I am doing no less than upholding my oath as an American soldier.”
Sgt. Shamar Thomas was the catalyst in this movie-like scenario with our inactive military standing with the protesters side by side.
These Marines’ actions are the definition of patriotism – not donning flagpins or waving Old Betsy — actions speak Red, White and Blue louder than feigning patriotism by displays which are born from a strong partisan stance.
Naysayers stand back, the Marines are coming.
#OccupyMarines, we are humbled.

Semper Fi: Occupy Marines Bringing Reinforcements To Occupy The Nation
The website OccupyMarines.org, is calling for “Non-Active ‘Occupy’ Military Supporters Only” and they are organizing a dress code which will help identify their branch affiliation. So we should be seeing Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel dressed to impress at Occupy events across the country. Their goal will be to talk sense into police officers and recruit them into supporting the cause.
“#OccupyMARINES Are Currently Assessing The Current Situation To Ascertain What Is Currently Needed To Support OWS America. We Are Humbled At The Substantial Support OWS America Has Provided And Ask That Everyone Continue As You All Do While We Implement Organization Nationwide. As We All Know, ‘Occupy’ Groups Are Being Established Even Now And Would Like To See This Trend Continue. “
“Security forces/police should be seen as potential recruits to our cause and message, not as adversaries. Ultimately, they are accountable to the people. Defensive strategies never win. Do not respond to verbal attacks or hostile propaganda from Nay-Sayers by using the language of the opponent. Reframe.”
Before you jump up and declare the OWS people are anything but a democratic aligned group of people that are simply sick of the corruption within our government. Go see for yourself! Sit in with a group that is having a general assembly and learn to use the peoples mike as you talk to your brothers and sisters about this situation that has stranglehold on the good people of this world. If you jump up and say they are liberal or conservatives or communists or socialists or libertarians or anarchist or any other name that implies any past political affiliation, please understand that any of these words can be either a good thing or a bad thing it only depends upon where you are when you speak of it. But none of these things apply to OWS because all issues that are ratified are ratified by a vote of the people. There is a bit of everything within the OWS movement just as the USA was a mixed bag of people. I can remember those day when the world would say that they could not depend on the USA to do anything and had no idea what they were going to do next. Because it depended on a vote by the people. I remember those days and By God I AM PROUD TO ADMIT THAT I REMEMBER THOSE DAYS. One day I think you will all be proud to be part of these days as well. Because the sleeping giant has awakened as it did to come to the rescue for WW2 We should all be ready to remember that day that awakened the sleeping giant the last time, on December 7th 1941 I was not yet born for those days. But I will be part of the giant this time as it once again shows us the power of democracy to keep the people together and focused on the task that is needed to keep us together and strong.

Michael Galletly · Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Active duty personnel can participate in OWS demonstrations as long as they do not wear military uniforms, nor engage in behavior that is illegal or service-discrediting. Simply attending a demonstration is neither of those things.

Hackers threaten to 'remove' Toronto from Internet if it evicts Occupy protesters

TORONTO — The notorious hacker group Anonymous is threatening to have the City of Toronto “removed from the Internet” if city officials move forward with plans to evict the Occupy Toronto camp.

“The brave citizens of Toronto are peaceful and well mannered occupiers, and we will not let the city . . . get involved,” says a computerized voice in a Saturday video by the group. Anonymous has previously stated it would ignore the Occupy Canada movement unless it saw an “interruption” to the protests.

Regardless, spokespeople with the office of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford say they will continue to push ahead with plans to bring the protest to a “peaceful conclusion.”

Cops raiding Occupy Oakland for second time

Justin Berton, Matthai Kuruvila,Henry K. Lee, Chronicle Staff Writers

Monday, November 14, 2011

Oakland police have arrested about 25 protesters at the sprawling Occupy Oakland encampment outside City Hall while hundreds of law-enforcement officers square off against demonstrators in the second such raid of the downtown tent city.

Law-enforcement officers from numerous Bay Area agencies began arriving in force at 5 a.m. as a police helicopter flew overhead. Clad in armor and riot helmets, they stood in lines and surrounded the camp near the corner of 14th Street and Broadway adjacent to Frank Ogawa Plaza, where dozens of demonstrators have been camping to protest economic inequity and corporate greed.

About 6 a.m., police began arresting protesters at an "interfaith tent" on the plaza, 40 minutes after police issued an order to disperse. The protesters sang "We Shall Overcome" as they were handcuffed.

By 6:45 a.m., police reported that they had made 25 arrests at the camp itself and had removed all the tents. Interim Police Chief Howard Jordan and Mayor Jean Quan were at the plaza by 7 a.m., surveying the scene. :evil

One protester, Zachary Running Wolf, remained perched on a wooden pallet in a tree on the sidewalk of 14th Street.

BART has shut down the 12th Street City Center Station. No trains will stop at the station, the transit agency said.

People who work at City Hall and nearby buildings have been told to delay their arrival until 10 a.m.

Officers this morning arrived in convoys from the Oakland Coliseum. They came from throughout the Bay Area, including sheriff's deputies from Alameda County, San Francisco police, and officers from along the Peninsula and the South Bay, including Burlingame, Foster City, Broadmoor, Daly City, Pacifica and Sunnyvale police. San Jose officers and Santa Clara sheriff's deputies were among those in the plaza.

Police Clear Zuccotti Park of Protesters

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on Tuesday defended his decision to clear the park in Lower Manhattan that was the birthplace of the Occupy Wall Street Movement, saying “health and safety conditions became intolerable” in the park where the protesters had camped out for nearly two months.

Mr. Bloomberg said the city had planned to reopen the park on Tuesday morning after the protesters’ tents and tarps had been removed and the stone steps had been cleaned. He said the police had already let about 50 protesters back in when officials received word of a temporary restraining order sought by lawyers for the protesters. He said the police had closed the park again until lawyers for the city could appear at a court hearing later in the morning.

“New York City is the city where you can come and express yourself,” the mayor said. “What was happening in Zuccotti Park was not that.” He said the protesters had taken over the park, “making it unavailable to anyone else.”

The mayor’s comments at a City Hall news conference came about seven hours after hundreds of police officers moved in to clear the park after warning that the nearly two-month-old camp would be “cleared and restored” but that demonstrators who did not leave would face arrest. The protesters, about 200 of whom have been staying in the park overnight, initially resisted with chants of “Whose park? Our park!”

Law enforcement officials said about 150 people were arrested, most of them in the park. Most were held on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Among those arrested was City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, a Democrat who represents northern Manhattan. He was with a group near the intersection of Broadway and Vesey Street that was attempting to link up with protesters at Zuccotti Park. The group tried to push through a line of officers trying to prevent people from reaching the park. Mr. Rodriquez was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. According to Twitter he was beaten by police.

The operation in and around Zuccotti Park was intended to empty the birthplace of a protest movement that has inspired hundreds of tent cities from coast to coast. On Monday in Oakland, Calif., hundreds of police officers raided the main encampment there, arresting 33 people. Protesters returned later in the day. But the Oakland police said no one would be allowed to sleep there anymore, and promised to clear a second camp nearby.

The police action was quickly challenged as lawyers for the protesters obtained a temporary restraining order barring the city and the park’s private landlord from evicting protesters or removing their belongings. It was not immediately clear how the city would respond. The judge, Justice Lucy Billings of State Supreme Court in Manhattan, scheduled a hearing for Tuesday.

The mayor, at his news conference, read a statement he had issued around 6 a.m. explaining the reasoning behind the sweep. “The law that created Zuccotti Park required that it be open for the public to enjoy for passive recreation 24 hours a day,” the mayor said in the statement. “Every since the occupation began, that law has not been complied with” because the protesters had taken over the park, “making it unavailable to anyone else.” :huh

“I have become increasingly concerned — as had the park’s owner, Brookfield Properties — that the occupation was coming to pose a health and fire safety hazard to the protesters and to the surrounding community,” Mr. Bloomberg said. He added that on Monday, Brookfield asked the city to assist in enforcing “the no sleeping and camping rules.

“But make no mistake,” the mayor said, “the final decision to act was mine and mine alone.”
:admin

Some of the displaced protesters regrouped a few blocks away at Foley Square, with the row of courthouses on Centre Street as a backdrop and police officers looking on. The protesters swapped stories of their confrontations with the police and talked about what to do next.

The Death of Occupy Wall Street?

Posted: 11/15/11 06:22 AM ET

Thanks to Mayor Bloomberg and Brookfield Office Properties green-lighting the midnight raid on Occupy Wall Street's "Liberty Square," I am now an insomniac. That will teach me to check Twitter in the wee hours. The revolution will not be televised but it will be Tweeted and YouTubed and Facebooked and emailed and smartphoned.

Upon opening, I stumbled into a torrent of urgent calls for help and alerts of an NYPD raid taking place. Then Michael Moore appeared and he was blocked from reaching Zuccotti by, of all things, barricades. Imagine that! Barricades in New York City.

The park was surrounded. Streets were shut down for blocks in all directions. The airspace was controlled by NYPD helicopters with search lights and infrared scanners and other expensive gadgetry. As Richard Kim of The Nation Tweeted, "How much is this costing taxpayers?" Then there was news of something ominously called "the sound cannon." This was being turned on our own citizens. When did the NYPD get one of those? People were being dragged, beaten, pushed, yelled at. Tear gassed. There was this: "LRADs used on #OccupyWallstreet in suprise RAID, confirmed. Live feed: http://ow.ly/7tJSg. I have no idea what an LRAD is but it doesn't sound good and I wouldn't want one used on me. The police knew there were families with children at Zuccotti Park, right? I hope they remembered to use child-doses of tear gas for the little ones.

The most surreal Tweet came from The New York City Mayor's Office: "Occupants of Zuccotti should temporarily leave and remove tents and tarps. Protestors can return after the Park is cleared. #ows." Of course by this time, the tents and belongings of the peaceful assembly had already been broken apart and chucked into dumpsters that were brought in as part of the raid. 5,000 books from the #OWS Library were thrown away. Are these possessions going to be returned? Remember when the city was stealing their generators? What happened to those?

Now I'm still up, unable to sleep as I watch my country fall further into a para-military paranoia about peaceful protestors. The excuse is always the same, whether it's Oakland or any of the multitude of cities where Occupy movements have emerged, authorities always say they must unleash the police because of "unsanitary conditions." This tactic has been used throughout our history to clear undesirable people away. At various times in our history it has been Blacks, Asians, Latinos, Muslims, Women, now it is the 99%. But, it's always been the 99%, whatever race, level of education, religion. All these divisions, but the most significant one is the one voiced by #OWS: the division between the 99% and the 1%, the top and the bottom-to-nearly-non-existent middle.

I for one should be resting more easily now that I know I am protected from being infected from some disease that might spread out from Zuccotti Park. What the authorities don't seem to understand is that the dis-ease has already spread beyond their ability to contain it, through hygiene or municipally-mandated violence against citizens. The dis-ease has been in the ether for decades and now people are looking for a cure, some form of relief. Some hope.

snip

So is this the death of Occupy. My suspicion is that this is, in fact, just the beginning. What form will it take next? It may not have Zuccotti Park anymore, but it increasingly has the intellectual and emotional landscape of the American psyche.

They are simply untouchable, thanks Bush :fu

Banksters Took Down Jefferson County, Alabama

Yesterday - Jefferson County, Alabama filed bankruptcy - and became the latest victim of the high crimes on Wall Street. The decision made by Jefferson county to file bankruptcy represents the largest-ever municipal bankruptcy in American history. In a twisted scheme of corruption and financial manipulation - mega banks JP Morgan Chase and Goldman Sachs allegedly paid off elected officials to invest in junk bonds to help finance a new sewer system.

But when the junk investments went bust - so too did Jefferson County - running out of money. Meanwhile - the mega banks were unscathed - making enormous profits off of fees. From ripping off customers with fine print and overdraft charges - to swindling an entire county - it's all in a day's work for the banksters on Wall Street.

That's why all need to get out there and OCCUPY SOMETHING!

Financial terrorists who caused collapse pose as EU debt crisis saviors

Precisely as we warned all along, the very financial terrorists responsible for the economic collapse have now exploited the crisis to pose as saviors and oversee a banker coup – with Goldman Sachs stooges now in control of both Italy and the European Central Bank.

The objective of the coup is to exploit the euro debt crisis as a vehicle through which to create a European federal superstate that will transfer all remaining control over national affairs to Brussels. The globalists have already started the process, hand-picking two unelected stooges to replace democratically elected Prime Ministers in Greece and Italy.

Silvio Berlusconi was the Colonel Gaddafi of Europe. Despite his personally loathsome character, Berlusconi was proving to be an obstacle for the banker coup and was hastily dismissed, not by the will of the people, but as Time’s Stephen Faris explains, by an action of insiders who control the markets.

“On Monday, investors seemed to make the collective decision that he could no longer be trusted at the helm of the euro zone’s third largest economy and sent Italy’s cost of borrowing up towards crisis levels. By the end of the week, not only was Berlusconi finished, so was the very idea of holding a vote to replace him. The markets had spoken, and they didn’t like the idea of going to the electorate. “The country needs reforms, not elections,” said Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council on a visit to Rome Friday.”

Berlusconi’s replacement is the ultimate globalist stooge, former EU Commissioner Mario Monti, an international advisor for Goldman Sachs, the European Chairman of David Rockefeller’s Trilateral Commission and also a leading member of the Bilderberg Group. Monti is a safe pair of hands for the next stage of the banker coup, when the euro crisis will be hijacked to concentrate even more power into the hands of the very people who caused it in the first place.

“This is the band of criminals who brought us this financial disaster. It is like asking arsonists to put out the fire,” commented Alessandro Sallusti, editor of Il Giornale, a Milan newspaper owned by the Berlusconi family.

Similarly, when Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou dared to suggest the people of Greece be allowed to have their say in a referendum, within days he was dispatched and replaced with Lucas Papademos, former vice-President of the ECB, visiting Harvard Professor and ex-senior economist at the Boston Federal Reserve.

Low and behold, the European Central Bank is now being hailed as the entity to “save the eurozone” by bailing out Italy, France and Spain.

And who has just been installed as President of the European Central Bank and billed as the “savior of Europe”? None other than Mario Draghi – former Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs International. Starting to notice a trend?

Of course, the strings attached to this bailout will accomplish precisely what the Eurocrats wanted all along, a closer-knit “political union” as German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for yesterday, or in other words a federal superstate that will eviscerate what remaining independence and sovereignty European nation states have left and hand it all over to Brussels.

The entire EU debt crisis is nothing less than a flagrant banker coup d’état designed to empower the same financial terrorists who caused the initial collapse in 2008 by suddenly withdrawing huge amounts of credit from the market.

The crooks who popped the bubble in the first place are now setting themselves up as the heroes who will ride to the rescue to prevent worldwide depression – at the cost of European nation states surrendering control over their economies to unelected EU dictators like Herman Van Rompuy and José Manuel Barroso.

Post Re: Either you are a rebel or a slave - Occupy Wallstreet
Financial Tyranny Rules Eurozone

From inception, Eurozone planning was flawed. Uniting 17 dissimilar countries under rigid rules failed.

Membership required surrendering monetary and fiscal authority to a central power.

Debt entrapment and banker occupation followed. Partnered with banking giants, money-controlled Troika power decides everything - the EU and ECB and IMF.

Rules require lowering living standards, sacking public workers, and selling off state assets lock, stock and barrel at fire sale prices.

None of it would happen if troubled sovereigns weren't trapped in the euro straightjacket. It lets bankers make rules, set terms, issue diktats, and pressure, bribe or otherwise force governments to acquiesce. As a result, households are burdened with oppressive austerity through no fault of their own.

Troubled Greece and Italy now make headlines. Troika power sacked their heads of state. One's replaced in Greece. Italy's choice is imminent. Lucas Papademos got Greece's top job. He'll serve unelected as prime minister. His credentials explain why.

A former ECB vice president (2002 - 2010), he earlier served as Governor of the Bank of Greece from 1994 - 2002. In 1980, he was Federal Reserve Bank of Boston senior economist. Afterwards, he became Bank of Greece's chief economist.

Since 1998, he's also been a Rockefeller-controlled Trilateral Commission member.

Troika power is safe in his hands. Democracy's birthplace abandoned it. Without it, personal freedom is gone.

Outgoing Prime Minister George Papandreou followed a Troika mandated deal between him, conservative opposition leader Antonis Samaras, and Giorgos Karatzaferis, head of the ultra-right LAOS party.

Earlier in the week, talks stalled when ruling PASOK party members and opposition figures rejected parliament speaker Filippos Petsalnikos, a Papandreou ally.

Bankers wanted their man and got him. Greek citizens want social justice but lost it. New austerity cuts were approved to assure more bailout help so bank held debt will be serviced at the expense of great public need.

The more cuts are imposed, the greater Greece's debt burden becomes, the more help it needs in an endless destructive cycle toward oblivion when the economy finally collapses. At issue isn't if. It's when, and it could come when least expected.

Greek households already bear enormous burdens unfairly. Official unemployment hit 18.4%. Real numbers may be much higher. August unemployment increased 10.7% over July. Youth unemployment tops 43%. Monthly figures are rising. At issue is how much more can people take. Stretched to the limit, revolution and/or military dictatorship may follow. It's happened before.

Democratic elections installed Papandreou and Italy's Silvio Berlusconi. Money power in private hands sacked both. Berlusconi agreed to go once parliament passed austerity measures.

On Friday, Italy's Senate agreed. On Saturday, its lower House followed. By overwhelming majorities, both bodies approved deep social spending cuts, public sector layoffs, labor market deregulation, and other measures. More will follow.

By Sunday or early next week, an unelected Troika favorite will rule next. Following orders, President Giorgio Napolitano apparently will name EU Commissioner Mario Monti, "Super Mario" to some.

Earlier he served as European Commissioner for Internal Market Services, Customs and Taxation. He also chairs the Breugel think tank, is Trilateral Commission European chairman, and leading Bilderberger Group member close to Goldman Sachs.

On November 9, Napolitano named him Senator for life. Before next week, expect him to add prime minister to his credentials, unless parliamentary divisions prevent it. Some want new elections. Others want certainty to calm markets. Italian households want good government and social justice. Back room deals exclude both.

Technocrat governments faired poorly in the 1990s. Conditions they created elevated Berlusconi to power in 2001 and 2008 after a short failed 1994 tenure. Monti may turn out worst of all, given his mandate to assure deep, very unpopular cuts.

Italy's debt burden exceeds $2.5 trillion. Deeper cuts forcing more borrowing will raise it higher. On November 11, a Financial Times commentary warned that "appointing an unelected technocrat is less than ideal."

Italy and Greece may dig bigger holes. "(I)t would be a fatal mistake to presume that a coalition of the old established political elite, led by technocrat(s), will provide a miracle fix to deeply rooted problems."

"Both governments will have to walk a tightrope between domestic policies and credibility in the markets....The new leaders must also recognize that nothing will be achieved without popular support."

It's absent under crisis conditions. Imagine greater public anger once deeper austerity is imposed. As a result, anything ahead is possible short-term. Beyond that, Eurozone's failed project is doomed. It's just a matter of time.

The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Switzerland, is the Central Banks' clearing house.

(For a history of central banking - http://the-tap.blogspot.com/2010/12/rem ... debts.html)

If the One World Government actually had an address, this would be part of it - the B.I.S, another privately owned bank, the central bankers' central bank, beyond the control of democracy or government, able to influence events secretly from behind the scenes. One thing is for sure is that in times of financial crisis, these central banking networks become supremely powerful, as those like Gordon Brown allow their countries to become effectively indebted to the point of loss of control.

The people wielding this power see the world's financial crisis as their moment of opportunity to seize greater power. The scary part of that is that hardly a living soul even knows they exist. Now that's real power.

What's all this about?

Professor Carroll Quigley wrote a book on who ruled the the USA and Britain between 1870 and 1960, called Tragedy And Hope: A History Of The World In Our Time. His publisher MacMillan, was taken over as they first published his book, and the plates and the manuscript were destroyed. But not before a handful of them had been sold. In this book, Professor Quigley wrote -

The power of the Bank Of England and of its governor was admitted by most qualified observers. In January 1924, Reginald McKenna, who had been Chancellor Of The Exchequer in 1915-1916, as Chairman of the Board of The Midland Bank, told its stockholder:"I am afraid the ordinary citizen will not like to be told that the banks can, and do, create money...And they who control the credit of the nation direct the policy of Governments and hold in the hollow in their hands the destiny of the people."

Quigley also wrote -

..the powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole."

Another book continues the story, Secret Records Revealed by Dr Dennis Cuddy -

On August 5th 1995, the New York Times published an article by Keith Bradsher, in which he wrote -
In a small Swiss city sits an international organisation so obscure and secretive...Control of the institution, the Bank for International Settlements, lies with some of the world's most powerful and least visible men: the heads of thirty-two central banks, officials able to shift billions of dollars at the stroke of a pen."

On June 28th 1998, The Washington Post published an article about the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) titled, "At Secret Meetings in Switzerland, 13 people shape the world's economy", which described these individuals as "this economic cabal...this secretive group...the financial barons who control the world's supply of money."

Quigley again -

Each Central bank sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Yet again, American citizens read about this in the foreign press. :evil

Occupy Wall Street: NYPD attempt media blackout at Zuccotti Park

New York police attempted to impose a media blackout as they cleared Occupy Wall Street protesters from Zuccotti Park late last night.

As police swooped on the park in the early hours of Tuesday, the city closed airspace in lower Manhattan to prevent news helicopters taking aerial shots of the scene. Vans were used to obscure views of the park and a police cordon effectively blocked accredited media from reaching the site. Some of those members of the press who were in the park or were able to get there say they were arrested, pepper sprayed or treated aggressively.

One of the few reporters on the scene when the police moved in was Josh Harkinson, a writer for Mother Jones magazine. As police used tear gas to remove the last protesters from the park Harkinson identified himself as a member of the media and was physically dragged out of the park. He was told that reporters had to stay in a "press pen".

Reporters tweeted their frustration using the hashtag #mediablackout and said police were ignoring and even confiscating press passes.

A New York Post reporter was "roughed up" according to the New York Times' Brian Stelter. Lindsey Christ, of local cable-news channel NY1, said on-air this morning that "the police took over, they kept everybody out and they wouldn't let media in. It was very planned."

At a press conference after the raid, mayor Mike Bloomberg defended the decision to raid Zuccotti Park as "mine and mine alone." He said the decision to clamp down on media coverage was made to "protect the members of the press. We have to provide protection and we have done exactly that." He said the move was made "to prevent a situation from getting worse".

Bloomberg said that "from the beginning, I have said that the city had two principal goals: guaranteeing public health and safety, and guaranteeing the protesters' First Amendment rights. But when those two goals clash, the health and safety of the public and our first responders must be the priority."

The New York Police Department did not return calls for comment.

While most media were left scrambling to catch up with the surprise midnight raid, some sections of the local press appear to have had some forewarning of what the police were planning. The New York Post, a persistent critic of Occupy, was able to splash on the news even though it happened after most papers had gone to press. The New York Times too was able to get early coverage on its website as the raid happened.

"Maybe Mayor Bloomberg has been watching Syrian TV or perhaps taking to Assad. His tactics are more akin to something you would see in Damascus than you would expect in country that claims democracy and freedoms of speech such as the United States," said Karanja Gaçuça, a member of the Occupy Wall Street press working group.

Josh Sterns, associate program director at Free Press, has been tracking the arrests of journalists at Occupy rallies across the US. So far he has counted 14 media arrests and many incidents of violence against media covering the events.
