High-fructose corn syrup, a ubiquitous ingredient present in processed foods and sugary beverages across the globe, is a well-known health destroyer with ties to conditions like metabolic damage and cancer. Now, scientists have revealed that the substance — oftentimes genetically modified — may also be damaging the brain functions of consumers worldwide.

In fact, the official release goes as far to say that high-fructose corn syrup can make you ‘stupid’. Conducted by the UCLA and published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Physiology, the study is the first to demonstrate how a diet heavily concentrated with high-fructose corn syrup can hamper brain functions — particularly those associated with memory and learning.

“Our findings illustrate that what you eat affects how you think,” stated professor of neurosurgery Fernando Gomez-Pinilla, from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

The findings should come as no surprise, given that it has previously been revealed that high-fructose corn syrup oftentimes contains the toxic heavy metal mercury. Mercury, of course, is highly dangerous and can cause serious complications with biological function — particularly when exposed to the substance on a daily basis through food intake and other sources (CFL light bulbs, amalgam fillings).

Despite the negative effects of high-fructose corn syrup on the brain, the scientists also found that there are natural solutions that can help to minimize and negate the damage. Scientists found that omega 3′s helped to fortify the brain after observing the results of feeding both flax seed oil and DHA to the study rats. The scientists found that the omega 3′s were helpful in aiding the ability of brain cells to transmit signals to one another. As a result, memory and total mental ability is improved.

It is continually being found that high-fructose corn syrup is highly toxic to the human body, and is absolutely unfit for consumption. There is simply no reason why the ingredient should exist within the food supply, other than to save companies money.

The first thing you will need is corn. As the name suggests, high fructose corn syrup is derived from corn starch. Corn, being one of the most genetically modified and subsidized crops today, is recognized as a major health benefit with an almost innumerable amount of beneficial effects on the body. You can either buy the corn grown, or grow it yourself with terminator gene seeds. Just make sure to buy more if you plan on growing more!

After attaining the corn, you will need to mill it. Then, simply separate the corn starch from the kernels. This is usually done in a process involving sodium hydroxide, also known as caustic soda or lye.

Most forms of lye are made using the mercury cell process. In this process, large pools of mercury are combined with other tested and safe materials in a large chemical vat. The resultant lye is used to separate corn starch from the kernels. This means that your high fructose corn syrup will have residual amounts of mercury, a known health elixir, should you use the proper form of lye for separation.

Once the corn is milled, you need to cook and process it even more, until it becomes corn syrup. From there, ‘natural’ enzymes are used to convert the glucose in the corn syrup into fructose, which is the healthiest form of sugar.

Your finished product will be high fructose corn syrup similar to that found in all manner of products today! But rather than making it yourself, it would be much easier and cheaper to simply buy it.

Manufacturers Rename ‘Corn Syrup’ to ‘Corn Sugar’ to Trick Consumers

As the morbid health effects of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) continue to be brought to the forefront of the media, the Corn Refiners Association has decided to give their sinister product a labeling makeover.

The desire for change comes after the consumption of HFCS dropped to a 20-year low. This drop is due to activists and health advocates exposing HFCS as a mercury-filled obesity bomb. The name change could take up to two years to go into effect. Online marketing ad campaigns, in addition to television ads, were launched following the name change request. The ads deceptively tell consumers that their bodies cannot tell the difference between “corn sugar” (corn syrup), and regular sugar. This is, of course, entirely untrue.

The alternative media as well as nutritional health experts were exposing HFCS years ago. The mainstream media, however, sided with the Corn Refiners Association. The mainstream media and the Corn Refiners Association asserted that HFCS was exactly the same as regular sugar.

HFCS is much different than regular table sugar. Eighty-five percent of the corn crop in the United States is genetically modified. Therefore, genetically modified HFCS is found in a large majority of products. Genetically modified ingredients can lead to sterility, infant mortality, and a host of other health conditions.

Researchers from Pinceton also found a lack of similarities between HFCS and table sugar. In their study, they found that rats who consumer HFCS gained significantly more weight than those who consumed table sugar. This was with the same caloric intake. The levels of HFCS given to the rats were substantially lower than the amount present in soda pop.

“Some people have claimed that high-fructose corn syrup is no different than other sweeteners when it comes to weight gain and obesity, but our results make it clear that this just isn’t true, at least under the conditions of our tests,” said psychology professor Bart Hoebel.

Changing the name of an ingredient that is known to wreak havoc on the body will not fool consumers. It is important to inform others about the name change, in addition to the scientific research regarding HFCS. It is through consumers speaking out that HFCS can not only be avoided, but eventually removed from most products in response to consumer demand.
